Senior Day iMovie – Piper Desorcie

Throughout the course of 2020 and 2021 the corona virus and the restrictions that are in place to stop the spread of the virus have led to seniors across the world missing out on many celebrations. In the case of the UNE Women’s Ice Hockey team, one of those celebrations was our senior day. Due to the pandemic, we knew that this day was going to have to look quite different than in previous years, but as underclassmen we were determined to give the seniors the celebration that they deserved.

When we came back to school in January, I thought about how most of the senior’s parents would not be able to be with their daughters as they played in their last hockey game in Harold Alfond Forum at the University of New England. This got me thinking, if parents can’t be here in person, why not virtual have them here to celebrate the day. This is where the video comes in. I decided to piece together a video that celebrated each and every one of the seniors and the journey that they have had while playing hockey for, in several cases, the two couple decades. With pictures from their past, messages from teammates, and messages from home, I truly believe that I was able to able to help recognize the seniors for all that they have accomplished and how grateful we are for them.
